On 7th October, we launched our 2026 Technology Leadership & Value Creation Report at WeWork’s UK HQ and presented it to an audience of senior technology and business leaders.
The report draws on the experiences of 126 CxOs who completed our annual survey and it covers several themes, including:
How technology is creating measurable business value
Insight: The most frequently cited sources of measurable value are product innovation and new digital products (36.9%), data and analytics (34%) and automation of core processes (31.1%).
How organisations are turning AI investment and adoption into tangible outcomes
Insight: Among organisations treating AI-enabled transformation as a main priority, 73% are scaling or have fully scaled AI and 62.2% have established, advanced or leading data maturity, increasing the chances of AI ROI.
How the role and career ambitions of the CTIO are changing
Insight: Only 3.6% of permanent CTIOs want their next title to be CEO, with many preferring interim work or PE Operating Partner roles instead.
How cyber security is contributing to enterprise value
Insight: Cyber security improvement and risk reduction was cited by 25.2% as a technology value lever, showing that preventing major losses can be as important as creating new revenue streams.
How technology teams are evolving and what they might look like in the future
92.3% expect to sustain or increase investment in UK-based technology staff, with future teams likely to be selectively distributed rather than all offshore.
Our panellists Lionel Hill, Todd Wade, Reem Zahran and Vincent Tuk discussed these themes at the event, and we’re grateful to them and everyone else who joined us for taking part in this conversation.
